San Francisco!

I’m just back from a whirlwind trip to San Francisco. I was able to take Micola and Sofia with me, they make great travel companions and are always very fun to travel with. On our 1st day we discovered this indoor market at The Ferry building. It was described to me as ” City Market on steriods”, and that it was. The market is filled with vendors carrying everything from mushrooms to antique French kitchen items. I was tempted to buy this antique wine rack at Culinaire and knew it was a steal at $750, but when I went back after lunch it was sold!! I guess it was a good deal!culinaire-wine-rack.jpgmushroom.jpgferry-building.jpg
The girls and I have traveled to San Francisco every summer since Sofia was a baby, and we never miss a trip to Caffe Sport for a plate of lobster pasta, here’s an after pasta shot of the girls in North Beach.caffe-sport.jpg
We also stumbled across this amazing cake shop in North Beach just off of Grant Street, Sofia decided that were going to spend the rest of the summer baking after seeing these amazing cakes in the window.cake.jpg
Mikola and Sofias great grandfather, Tony Accuardi, owned this saloon back in the 40’s, it’s across from Cafe Trieste in North Beach. We always stop by and admire the windows and font that are very reminiscent of Old Town Pizza Co.saloon1.jpg
And of course no travel would be complete without a little design inspiration! I begged Micola to walk 37 blocks, one way, with me to Rose and Radish in the Hayes Valley neighborhood. The Rose and Radish is a sweet little floral studio that also serves as a gallery and art installation that changes its theme every 10-12 weeks. Check out http://www.roseandradish to view there current show called “The summer tea party”.
